Flat Top Brush

As a Make-Up artist, make-up lover and make-up addict I love trying new products and brushes.
So here it is my new purchase: Flat Top Brush by Hakuro H50s.

There are two different sizes of this foundation brush. H50 and H50s. H50s is the smaller one, you can easily apply foundation on whole face and concentrate on more precise work and harder to reach parts of your face (nostrils, under eyes). Would also be perfect for applying powder or cream blusher.
H50 I would use for a fast application, when a light coverage required, or when make-up is needed on bigger areas: decollete or arms.

The benefits of flat top brushes are countless:
-smooth, flawless, natural, airbrushed look
-soft to the skin
-perfect for all kinds of foundation (cream, liquid, powder)
-doesn't absorb your products (very economic)
-for light/medium coverage apply foundation in circular motions, for heavy coverage - in patting potions

I need to admit I was very surprised when after first application of foundation the brush was completely clean! It is recommended to spray the brush lightly with water before you dip it in your product to minimise  the absorption by bristles. I have not done this yet, I will give it a go next time:)

I wonder if You ever tried Flat Top brushes? What do You think? Which brand do You like most?
Let me know

Day on set

Today I am making an updated about my recent job.
I honestly need to admit that I love every single day of work I have in my makeup career. Each time I meet amazing people, go different places, get loads of new experience...it is simply beautiful when         You can turn your hobby into a career.
So recently I had a pleasure to work with some very creative people.
Croftwerk, a music video production company, took me on board and we went to Glasgow to meet BMX BANDITS.
I did expect the day on set would be very busy, running round with my brushes around the artists.
But to my surprise, we had plenty time for preparations, touch ups and consultation.
The band members were amazing, such inspiring people!

Doing makeup for music video clip is so different than when working on a photo shoot.
I loved the idea to create the70's theme makeup on an actress She looked stunning with green, blue, turquoise eyeshadow on! Because the 70's makeup trends have never really come back, along with whole stylisation I felt like we turned back in time:)

Kryolan Lip Rouge

Today I thought I would write a review of my recent purchase.

As I work on different people and different skin types all the I was in need of a few shades of nude lipstick.
I had spent a few visits to drugstore, few days online research and still couldn't decide what to get.
Finally I grabbed my slightly forgotten Kryolan catalog. The provide a huge choice of lipsticks and lip palettes.
Love the brand, but it's hard to order something if can't see the product, test the texture. So I paid a visit in Wigs Up North.
To my surprise the only colours the had in Lip Rouge Lip Palette were....NUDES!
I got them and love them as much as I love all the rest Kryolan products! Definitely I will purchase them in fashion colour version:)

The lip palette comes in five beautiful nude shades. Depending on desired look You might choose between shade that blends with your skin colour or to emphasise your natural lip tone.
Its creamy texture glides easily on skin but yet stays on very long.
The product is fragrance free so suitable for sensitive clients.
Highly recommended.

THIS IS WHAT KRYOLAN SAYS ABOUT THE LIPMPALETTE:

Lip Rouge in an elegant mirror-set with 5 colors. Lip Rouge with a long-proven formulation, including Vitamin E to stimulate the skin’s repair mechanism.
Ideal for perfect looks.

3 Ways to Transform Wet Hair While You Sleep Read more: http://www.oprah.com/style/Ideas for Wet Hair Styling Tips for Wet Hair

Leaving wet hair loose overnight means you might find a surprise (e.g., cowlicks that can't be controlled, layers that won't lie flat) in the morning. Blot hair with a towel to absorb as much water as possible, says Gibson, then try one of these quick styles to eliminate bedhead...

Wake Up to More Volume

Fine hair has a tendency to fall flat. These four fast steps will add body overnight:

1. Spritz all over with a volumizing spray, which swells the hair shaft as it dries and makes hair look thicker.
2. Pull it all into a high pony at your crown and twist the tail—winding it onto itself to create a loose bun. Why loose? Because a too-tight chignon not only prevents hair from drying all the way through but also could lead to breakage (especially if your hair is relaxed).
3. With a few long bobbies, pin the bun in place.
4. In the morning, let your hair down and finger comb (using a brush creates frizz).

Wake Up to Waves

Try Gibson's technique for shoulder-length hair and skip the curling iron in the morning.

1. Apply a light mousse from roots to ends to help hair hold its shape as it dries.
2. From hairline to nape, divide your hair down the middle with a comb, separating it into two equal sections.
3. Braid each side from the middle down. Starting any higher will create crimps near your roots.
4. Secure the end of each braid with a metal-free elastic.
5. Pull out the elastics or pins in the morning and unwind your hair. For a beachy effect, mist a salt spray all over your hair and scrunch with your hands.

Wake Up to Less Frizz

Giving your hair a break from heat can actually be beneficial—especially for those with natural waves. "The less you do to curls the better," says Gibson.

1. Apply a light leave-in conditioner and use a wide-tooth comb to distribute it to your ends. A brush or a fine-tooth comb can destroy your curl pattern and create kinks.
2. Part your hair down the middle. Divide each side into three smaller sections.
3. Starting at the bottom of one of the smaller sections, create a pin curl by wrapping the ends up and over two fingers as you would a foam roller and continue winding up toward your roots. (This prevents curls from tangling or catching on your pillow at night.)
4. Slip your fingers out and secure the pin curl to your scalp using a clip. Then repeat steps three and four on the other five sections.
5. Remove the clips in the a.m. and lightly spritz your hair with water to soften curls and eliminate static.
